Philipponnat Brut Reserve Rosé Champagne NV

Philipponnat is one of the last houses to be run by a member of its founding family. And Charles Philipponnat is a true Champenois, descended from winemakers, cellarmasters and growers dating back nearly 600 years. 

The Brut Reserve Rosé is a rich, round, lovely wine with exceptional style. 75% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Meunier, the first press juice comes from their Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards from the heart of the Champagne winegrowing area. Philipponnat's reserve wines (25-30% of the blend) are aged in wooden barrels using the solera system to incorporate older wines without losing freshness. 

This cuvée is distinctive for its subtle bouquet layered with complex fruit. Aromas of summer berries, cherries and wild strawberry hit first followed by citrus and grapefruit that develop with time in the glass. On the palate, the texture is precise but with some weight and striking acidity, with flavors of bright fruit enhancing the hints of spice. An ideal complement to berry desserts, with smoked fish, veal, lamb or frittata with bacon and carmelized onions.
