Barbour Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019

As you may already know, Jim Barbour is one of the most sought-after viticulturists and vineyard managers in the valley, responsible for tending vines for some of the most elite wineries in the Cabernet market (Hundred Acre, Grace Family, Checkerboard, Blankiet, Revana, The Vineyardist, and more). Combined with the talented winemaking skills of Celia Welch, the two possess an affinity for world-class wine. Located near Sinegal on Inglewood Avenue in western St. Helena, this is a well-kept, jewel box of a Cabernet project. Jim planted his own vineyard in 1992, selecting Clone 7 bud-wood from Grace Family Vineyard, a vineyard he developed several years prior. The Barbour Vineyard is dry-farmed, a practice for which Jim is revered in the business, and sustainably grown, producing a meager yield of one to two tons per acre. The resulting fruit offers beautifully concentrated flavors with a heavy nod toward elegance. The vineyard’s first harvest was in 1995 yielding just three-quarters of a ton, and 50 cases of lush, refined Cabernet. Today, at full maturity, the vineyard produces approximately 400 cases of beautiful, age-worthy wine. We are thrilled to have this new vintage with us!
