A longtime friend of ACME and winemaker at O'Shaughnessy on Howell Mountain, Sean Capiaux has an established reputation (formerly with Peter Michael, Jordan, and Pine Ridge) for producing beautiful wines year after year. Using this diverse array of winemaking platforms, Sean developed a personal style that we can smell and taste within his labels:  TBD and Capiaux Cellars. Sean pours his soul into his wines and is known for muscular Cabernets and elegant Pinot Noirs. With TBD, he focuses on showcasing lesser-known regions or unique varietals such as Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, or Chardonnay from Chalone as we have today. At ACME, we feel we must bring you the unknown and underappreciated wines that you never knew you needed, and our Pulse Club is just the place for such exploration!

Originating from the Medoc region of Bordeaux, France, Carmenere was used in blending but is now almost exclusively grown in Chile. Carmenere is very dark-skinned and a cross between Cabernet Franc and Trousseau grapes. It is thought to have first been planted by the Romans in Bordeaux, and the name Carmenere comes from the French word for crimson. TBD's 2017 is a dark, deep purple with ripe plum aromas and flavors of black and blue fruit. Cranberry, black currant, white pepper, and green bell pepper are also present, as well as classic and beloved characteristics of this varietal. Enjoy this bottle at your next wine tasting to spark conversation!
