The legacy of Heitz Cellars has deep roots in the fine wine realm.  Dating back to the early 1960s, Joe Heitz was one of Napa’s pioneering vintners who possessed a passion for authenticity, and a commitment to showcasing the unique expression of high-quality, single-vineyard terroir.  He had the good fortune to work at Gallo, learning the ropes, and at Beaulieu Vineyards under André Tchelistcheff who was known throughout the world as one of the brightest minds in viticulture.

Of all the impact that Joe HEitz has had on the wine industry, his legacy through Martha's Vineyard might be the most signifcat. Joe created the very first single vineyard Cabernet from Napa Valley with fruit from this vineyard, and launched a trend that still defines the industry today. 

On the palate, the Heitz Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a symphony of flavors. Layers of black cherry, plum, and blueberry dance harmoniously, complemented by notes of tobacco, leather, and a subtle hint of graphite.
