ROAR Sierra Mar Vineyard Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands 2022

Breathtaking doesn't begin to describe the Sierra Mar Vineyard, a very special and unique plot of vines that seem utterly unreal at first glance. The vineyard sits on a plateau 1,100 feet high and is surrounded by idyllic orchards of avocado and citrus trees. It was painstakingly planted by Gary Franscioni in 2007. The elevation puts the vineyard above the fog line on most days, and the added dosage of sunshine offers a level of ripeness and freshness to the wines that stand out amongst their full portfolio.

Honestly, we have been waiting to be taken by a Pinot for months. We have tried many, and none have wowed us at first sip—until now. This wine is perfectly balanced, with a palate dominated by bramble berries and spice. A savory minerality underlies the ripe fruit flavors, creating a really dynamic palate. Simply delicious and worth collecting or seeking out if you have never tried it.
