DuMOL Wester Reach Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2022

Founded in 1996, DuMOL is a vineyard-focused producer of cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from distinctive vineyards in the extreme southwestern part of the Russian River Valley. DuMOL wines are notoriously driven by quality and finesse, crafted to be approachable now and unquestionably expected to develop beautiful complexities with additional years of bottle age. “As a ‘vineyard up’ winery, we remain very close to the ingredients, close to the vineyards. Our winemaking technique is secondary to what we achieve in the field.” - Winemaker, viticulturist, and partner Andy Smith. Andy, whose resume includes the historic Larkmead Vineyards and Paul Hobbs, works closely with every vineyard under the DuMOL label. He must remain connected to the land in order to gain the best understanding of its potential before attempting to create single-vineyard wines, as well as larger appellation blends that will embody the nuance and soul of DuMOL year after year, and in 2022, he has done it again. The high quality of these blends is a testament to DuMOL’s heritage vineyards, precise farming, and over twenty years of experience, patience, and sensitive craftsmanship. Displaying a vivid expression of both region and vintage, these wines are focused, drive, and exhibit an uninhibited display of the cool-climate fruit intensity thatthe  Russian River Valley has to offer. Aromas are rich with oily intensity: white peach, tangerine, and crystallized ginger underpinned by an edge of steely mineral freshness.
