BuonGuido Wines is a project shaped by movement, memory, and the very traditions that anchor a family across continents. The Cataldis, Mazzettis, and Guidos built BuonGuido around their family rituals—Sunday dinners filled with pasta, wine, laughter, and the kind of connection that makes any table feel like home. Their wines are crafted to reflect that spirit: balanced, welcoming, and full of the quiet complexity that comes from generations of stories, sacrifices, and dreams stitched together.
Their 2023 LuBiGi Cabernet Sauvignon carries that heritage forward with intention. Named for the family’s children—Luca, Bianca, and Gianna—LuBiGi represents all three Cabernet blocks of the Guido Family Vineyard, each contributing a different voice to the blend. Farmed using regenerative organic practices, the vineyard sits on clay loam, alluvial deposits, and sandstone, giving the fruit both power and natural lift. The wine spent 19 months in a mix of neutral and new French oak, allowing structure and texture to develop without overshadowing the vineyard's character.
The wine itself is immediately captivating, beginning with a jewel-toned pomegranate hue and aromas of salted dark chocolate, fresh cherries, and black currant. Layers of pencil shavings, crushed black pepper, and warm earth add depth, while supple tannins and bright, punctual acidity create a palate that feels both grounded and energetic. It strikes that rare balance of being undeniably robust yet surprisingly playful, delivering generosity without heaviness. With only five barrels produced, the 2023 LuBiGi Cabernet Sauvignon is the kind of wine that doesn't just pair with Sunday dinner—it feels like a part of it.
