Bryant Family Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2023

- VarietyCabernet Sauvignon

In 1986, Don & Barbara Bryant purchased land on Napa's most famous hill: Pritchard Hill. Don enlisted esteemed vineyard manager David Abreu to plant an adjacent plot to Cabernet Sauvignon and Helen Turley to make the wines from the remarkable hillside estate. These decisions, along with the undeniable quality of the fruit, evoked the brand's success from the very start. Situated above the Pacific marine layer at an elevation range of 900-1200 feet, with propitious proximity to Lake Hennessey and its ventilating attributes, the benefits are numerous. Ultimately, the unique microclimate is one of the chief assets of Bryant Family wines. They are known for balancing power and elegance with a vibrant core of structure provided by acidity and tannins.
For decades, the flagship Bryant Family Cabernet held the spotlight. In 2007, DB4 was released as a tribute to Don's love of the "4" blocks that form the heart of the estate vineyard. In 2009, when Don remarried, a proprietary blend of Bordeaux varietals was named after his wife, Bettina. With a commitment to excellence, all three wines remain high on the list of Napa Valley collectibles.
"Released in 1992, the Bryant Family Vineyard 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on our 13-acre estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill. The vineyard climbs from 900 to 1200 feet in elevation as it ascends above the shores of Lake Hennessey. With its various exposures, slopes, aspects, and soils, the complexity of the site yields unusually dynamic wines as a single varietal.
Our Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon captures the core of our hillside estate. Layers of vibrant cassis, black cherry, and black currant interplay with savory infusions of graphite, sage, tapenade, and tobacco that unfold in unwavering strata. Texturally, the palate displays profound density and minerality, woven with finessed tannin and backed by a brightness, purity, and freshness that transcends to a seemingly endless and pure finish." ~Winemaker Tasting Notes
